How the Generator Control Unit (GCU) works

The Palladium is a Generator Control Unit (GCU) that can keep an aircraft in the sky if it loses power.

The Pecan transforms a permanent-magnet generator's variable amplitude and varying frequency output to well-regulated DC. Multiple Pecan units can share the aircraft's DC supply precisely, forming a redundant system where a faulty device may cut itself off and transfer the load to the other. Various safety considerations are implemented to protect and eliminate fault effects. The GCU power, dimensions, and cooling can be customized according to the customer's needs.
